Product Features DMI-65 is a revolutionary silica sand based filtration media designed
for the removal of Iron and Manganese from feedwaters. The media has been extensively
used in many different applications over the world. DMI-65 represents the most advanced
catalytic water filtration media currently available with extremely high capabilities
of removing both Iron (Fe) and Manganese (Mn) simultaneously through low cost catalytic
oxidation and retention of precipitate. DMI-65 will also remove arsenic from a water
supply given the correct operational conditions. DMI-65 is one of the few catalytic
water filtration media in the world developed to remove iron and manganese that
is certified to NSF/ANSI 61 for drinking water applications.
Iron and Manganese
Iron can be removed by many different methods to achieve the “World Drinking
Water Quality Standards”. Since the introduction of DMI-65, these methods
are regarded as old technology by world standards, expensive to operate in chemical,
labour, energy and ongoing maintenance costs.
The DMI-65 has a life span of at least 5 to 8 years before needing to be replaced
if the plant is maintained correctly.
Advantages of DMI 65
Eliminates Potassium Permanganate. Continuous injection of sodium hypochlorite to
low (0.2ppm) residual acts as an activator for the media and provides a residual
sanitiser effect..
Wide pH range. Stable and satisfactory performance at pH 5.8 to 8.6.
High Flow Rates. DMI-65 operates satisfactorily at linear filtration velocities
of up to twice that of conventional media, reducing capital costs considerably.
Higher Operating Temperatures. Maximum operating temperature of 45°C.
Long Life. DMI-65 is not consumed in the catalytic oxidation process,.
System Compatibility. Physical properties are similar to that of other comparable
systems, allowing a change of media without major hardware modifications.
Arsenic Removal. DMI-65 has been shown to remove arsenic associated with iron-containing
influent. Ferric chloride is used when treating feedwaters with high arsenic feed
levels.

Granular activated carbon is designed for reduction of tastes, odors and dissolved
organic chemicals from municipal and industrial water supplies. Manufacture from
selected grades of coconut shell coal to produce a high density, durable granular
product capable of withstanding the abrasion and dynamics associated with repeated
hydraulic transport, backwashing and mechanical handling.
One of the most common applications for Coconut Shell-High Activated Carbon (RC-SAC)
is the reduction of the undesirable tastes and odors present in many chlorinated
water supplies. RC-SAC has been successful for many years in the reduction of free
chlorine from water supplies. The end product is clean, fresh water with no objectionable
taste or odor characteristics.
We have for many years provided activated carbon to the OEM and replacement market
as a pre-treatment for other water purification systems as well as for use in individual
treatment equipment for the removal of specific impurities.
RC-SAC may be used in either domestic or industrial applications using gravity flow
or pressurized filter vessels.
Advantages
RC-SAC is an outstanding material for applications requiring taste, odor and dissolved
organic chemical removal from water with suspended matter present. This product
can be used for filtering waters having a wide range of pH levels.
Large surface area results in an exceptionally high capacity and efficiency.
Balanced pore structure gives a more efficient adsorption range.
RC-SAC is very durable so losses due to attrition are kept to a minimum.
RC-SAC has a very high carbon-low ash content.
Service rates of 5 gpm/sq. ft. are practical for ordinary taste, odor and chlorine
loads.
RC-SAC will impart a high “polish” to the filtered water.

Lewatit 80 is a high quality, high capacity strongly acidic, gel-type cation
exchange resin of a uniform bead size with a styrene-divinylbenzene copolymer. Its
high total capacity, very good chemical and mechanical stability make it especially
suitable for use in softening of industrial water as well as all conventional ion
exchange process.
Lewatit 80 resin is supplied in a sodium form as colored translucent beads in one
cubic foot bags and larger bulk bags. The resin does not contain chlorinated solvents.
and the manufacturing process ensures low taste, odor and color throw for potable
water applications. The resin meets the requirements for paragraph 173.25 of the
Food Additive Regulation of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. When used in
softening applications,Lewatit 80 resin has 30,000 grains of exchange capacity when
regenerated with 15 pounds of NaCl per cubic foot and 20,000 grains with six pounds
NaCl per cubic foot ensure high salt usage efficiency and low operating cost.
Advantages
No chlorinated solvents are used during manufacturing
Manufacturing process insures low taste, odor and color throw for portable waters
Strong and durable beads ensure long service life

Product Features
Gravel is a natural ore that has many outstanding advantages over more common
granular filter sands and multimedia used for suspended solids reduction. The angularity
of the granules and the tapered internal pore spaces allow for reduction of dirt,
silt and organic matter suspended in water by bridging, straining and adhesion.
The rough surface and internal porosity provide a high surface area for efficient
removal of suspended matter. Using deep bed filtration can typically reduce suspended
solids down to the 5 micron or less range. Gravel granular structure typically creates
less pressure loss through the filter and allows deeper sediment penetration into
the bed for higher suspended solids loading and longer filter runs. The deep bed
filtration capacity of this product prevents a rapid buildup of head loss and blinding
problems that are associated with typical sand filters. Longer filter run times
reduce backwash frequency, which provides conservation of water. This ideal combination
of particle shape, texture and porosity make this media a good choice where quality
water filtration and water conservation are important.
Substantial savings can be realized when designing a system using Gravel. Its low
pressure drop, high service flow rates and high bed loadings combined with lower
backwash frequency allow economy in equipment downsizing and reduced pumping requirements.
Its low density also saves on handling expense and shipping cost.
Advantages
Gravel is graded specifically for water filtration plants.
Filter Sand can be used in municipal, industrial or residential applications
The spherical shape of uncrushed gravel promotes good flow and even distribution.
Deep bed filtration results in superior water quality and reduces the load on downstream
equipment.
High sediment removal capacity results in longer filter runs, with a substantial
savings in backwash water and time out of service.
High service flow rate result in lower equipment costs and a savings in space.
Reduced shipping cost due to lighter weight/cu.ft.
